Listening Group

Conversational practice

Taking listening as a concentrated, critical form of hearing that prioritizes the understanding of the other. Listening to recorded texts, intending to create a net of „plot-points“, subjective knots and rhizomatic references, instead of aiming to reveal any objective or predetermined sense, structure or argumentation of the text.  The figure of the unfit and inappropriate aims to examine alterations to established forms. Turning away from the classic reading group as a form of communal research, the Listening Group tries to engage their subjects from a more receptive mode.
